Business Acquisition Masterclass
Learning to buy a business isn't something you figure out on the fly. We've spent years working with buyers across Sydney and beyond, and we've turned that experience into a structured program. This isn't theory—it's what actually works when money and contracts are on the table.
Six Core Pillars
Financial Analysis
You'll learn to read business financials the way lenders and accountants do. Cash flow, EBITDA adjustments, working capital—these terms become tools you can use to assess what a business is genuinely worth.
Due Diligence
Most buyers overlook something critical. We teach you systematic checks: lease agreements, supplier contracts, employee obligations, and regulatory compliance. Each one matters when you're writing a cheque.
Negotiation Strategy
Buying isn't about haggling. It's about understanding what motivates sellers and structuring offers that work for both parties. You'll practice scenarios based on real deals we've brokered.
Legal Framework
Contracts in Australia have specific clauses that protect or expose you. We cover asset vs share purchases, restraint of trade, warranties, and indemnities—not to replace your lawyer, but so you understand what's happening.
Funding Options
Banks aren't the only option, and sometimes they're not even the best one. Seller finance, vendor terms, private lenders—we map out what's available and when each approach makes sense for your situation.
Transition Planning
The first 90 days determine whether an acquisition succeeds. Staff retention, customer communication, supplier relationships—you'll develop a handover plan that reduces risk and maintains revenue.
How the Program Unfolds
We run this over twelve weeks, starting September 2025. Each phase builds on the previous one, so by the end you've worked through every stage of an actual acquisition.
Foundation
Weeks 1-3 cover business valuation methods and financial statement analysis. You'll assess three real businesses currently on the market in NSW.
Investigation
Weeks 4-6 focus on due diligence. You'll use checklists we've developed from dozens of transactions to identify what most buyers miss.
Execution
Weeks 7-9 are about offers and negotiation. Role-play sessions with experienced brokers prepare you for conversations with sellers and their advisors.
Completion
Weeks 10-12 cover settlement and transition. You'll draft a 100-day plan for a business you've analyzed throughout the program.
Program Investment
We keep groups small—maximum eight participants. That means personalized feedback and time to work through your specific questions. Payment plans are available.

I thought I'd need bank finance, but the seller terms module showed me how to structure vendor finance that worked better for both of us.

Acquired Retail Business, North Shore
The negotiation practice sessions were uncomfortable but necessary. When I sat down with an actual seller, I knew exactly what questions to ask.
