People Who Actually Do This Work
We're a small group in Baulkham Hills who've spent years helping Australian business buyers get deals done. Not consultants who theorize. People who've sat across tables during negotiations, reviewed hundreds of financials, and watched buyers make both smart moves and costly mistakes.
Started back in 2018 when three of us realized most business buyers were getting generic advice from advisors who'd never actually purchased a business themselves. So we built something different—practical guidance from folks who understand what it's really like to sign on the dotted line.
Our team has grown since then, but the approach hasn't changed. We still focus on the details that matter when you're putting your savings and future on the line.
Callum Brightwell
Business Acquisition SpecialistBought his first cafe in 2015 after months of searching through listings that all looked perfect on paper. The reality? Discovering issues three weeks after settlement that could've been caught with better due diligence.
That experience shaped everything he does now. Callum works with buyers to dig into what financials actually mean, what questions to ask sellers, and which red flags deserve attention versus which ones don't.
He's particularly good at translating accountant-speak into plain language and helping buyers understand cash flow patterns in retail and hospitality businesses.
Petra Viklund
Due Diligence AdvisorMoved to Sydney from Stockholm in 2016 and spent five years working in commercial real estate before switching to business acquisitions. The transition made sense—both involve helping people make huge financial decisions with incomplete information.
Petra's strength is asking the uncomfortable questions buyers often avoid. She's walked away from deals that looked amazing because something in the lease terms didn't add up, or the seller's story about revenue changes had gaps.
She runs workshops every quarter on contract review and teaches buyers how to spot problems before they become expensive surprises.
What We Actually Teach
Our programs start in September 2025 and run through early 2026. They're designed for people who are serious about buying but need practical skills, not theory.
We cover financial analysis—how to read profit and loss statements, identify adjusted earnings, understand what "goodwill" really means. Then move into valuation methods that work in the Australian market, negotiation tactics that don't feel sleazy, and due diligence processes that catch problems.
Most sessions include real examples from deals we've worked on. What went right, what went wrong, and what we'd do differently. Because reading about business acquisition is one thing. Hearing about the time someone missed a major supplier contract change because they didn't ask the right question? That sticks with you.
We keep groups small—usually under twelve people—so there's time for questions about your specific situation. Every buyer's circumstances are different, and cookie-cutter advice rarely helps.
How We Got Here
2018 – Starting Point
Three business buyers met at a settlement meeting and realized they'd all made similar mistakes. Started meeting monthly to share what they were learning. Those casual coffee catch-ups turned into something more structured when other buyers started asking to join.
2020 – First Formal Program
Launched proper workshops after enough people said they'd pay for organized guidance. Eight participants in the first cohort. Learned quickly that buyers wanted practical tools they could use immediately, not academic frameworks.
2022 – Expanded Team
Brought on two more advisors who'd successfully acquired and sold businesses. Added specialized sessions on manufacturing and service-based businesses since retail wasn't everyone's focus. Started one-on-one coaching for buyers working on specific deals.
2024 – Ongoing Development
Helped over 180 buyers through various stages of acquisition. Some completed purchases, others walked away from bad deals—both are wins in our book. Continued refining programs based on what actually helps people make better decisions.
2025 – Current Focus
Still running programs from our Baulkham Hills location. Still keeping groups small. Still emphasizing real examples over textbook theory. The fundamentals of buying a business haven't changed much, but market conditions shift constantly—so we do too.
